Print Titles



When you need to print a lot of data that expands to multiple pages, keeping column and row titles is critical. Excel has a Print Titles feature that helps out with that.


Let’s say you have Sales data for each month of the year that you want to print out. The printout will be 4 pages, but the default setting would show page 4 like this:


As you can see, we have no context for what the numbers actually mean.


To get the column headers and row titles to print on every page, select Print Titles from the Page Layout Ribbon:

In the Print Titles section of the dialogue box, you can select the rows and/or columns that you want to print on each page. In our example, we want the first two rows on each page as well as the first column.


Now we can clearly see what each number relates to on the fourth page.
